Acer earned huge profits in 2017, the article of top Taiwanese electronics company announced the highest profit margin, which amounted to 10.7 percent.
Acer's year-on-year earnings (YoY) in 2017 rose by 2 percent, and they reported consolidated revenues of 237 billion Taiwan dollars or about Rp 111 trillion, according to Acer's official statement on Monday (9/4/2018) .
Acer's gross profit in 2017 is 25 billion Taiwan dollars or about Rp 11 trillion. Its own margin was 10.7 percent counted as the highest in the last 14 years.
For operating income, Acer posted a figure of 3.67 billion Taiwan dollars or about Rp 1.6 trillion. That number tripled from the previous year, and the highest in seven years with a margin of 1.5 percent.
Acer's net income obtains is 2.8 billion Taiwan dollars, or about Rp 1.3 trillion, while earnings per share ( earnings per share , EPS) is 0.93 Taiwan dollars, or about Rp 438.
By 2017, Acer has also registered 380 patents, and it brings the company headquartered in New Taipei City into the top five in Taiwan in terms of new patents.
Acer was built by Stan Shih and his wife Carolyn Yeh, along with five others on August 1, 1976. At first, the company was named Multitech before being renamed Acer in 1987.
