In its official statement, Facebook disclose information from approximately 87 million users have been used improperly by the political consulting firm, Cambridge Analytica.

Most of the data is Facebook users in the United States (US), and Indonesia also includes the three major victims.

A total of 70.6 million misused accounts are from the US, the Philippines is second with 1.2 million and Indonesia with 1 million accounts. Of the total number of abusive accounts, 1.3 percent are the property of users in Indonesia.

Other countries that are also victims are Britain, Mexico, Canada, India, Brazil, Vietnam and Australia. However, Facebook claimed not to know the details of the data taken and the exact number of accounts that become victims.

"In total, we believe information from 87 million people on Facebook, mostly in the US, has been improperly shared with Cambridge Analytica," Facebook wrote in its official statement on Thursday (5/4/2018).

Responding to the matter, the Minister of Communications and Informatics (Menkominfo) Rudiantara said it was not hesitate to close up when handling related hoaks not also done seriously.

The decision, according to Rudiantara, can not be separated from the recognition of Facebook related cases of violence in Rohingnya, Myanmar. For information, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently claimed to have found an attempt to cloud the atmosphere on Rohingnya through its platform.

Acer Rewards Highest Profits in Last 14 Years

Acer earned huge profits in 2017, the article of top Taiwanese electronics company announced the highest profit margin, which amounted to 10.7 percent.

Acer's year-on-year earnings (YoY) in 2017 rose by 2 percent, and they reported consolidated revenues of 237 billion Taiwan dollars or about Rp 111 trillion, according to Acer's official statement on Monday (9/4/2018) .

Acer's gross profit in 2017 is 25 billion Taiwan dollars or about Rp 11 trillion. Its own margin was 10.7 percent counted as the highest in the last 14 years.

For operating income, Acer posted a figure of 3.67 billion Taiwan dollars or about Rp 1.6 trillion. That number tripled from the previous year, and the highest in seven years with a margin of 1.5 percent.

Acer's net income obtains is 2.8 billion Taiwan dollars, or about Rp 1.3 trillion, while earnings per share ( earnings per share , EPS) is 0.93 Taiwan dollars, or about Rp 438.

By 2017, Acer has also registered 380 patents, and it brings the company headquartered in New Taipei City into the top five in Taiwan in terms of new patents.

Acer was built by Stan Shih and his wife Carolyn Yeh, along with five others on August 1, 1976. At first, the company was named Multitech before being renamed Acer in 1987.

GoPro began a partnership with electronics manufacturer, Jabil. The partnership in question is the sale of license over camera action to the second party, namely Jabil.

Quoting The Verge on Wednesday (28/3/2018), with this licensing agreement, Jabil will use GoPro's design and intellectual property to manufacture its camera lens and sensors for third party products.

Previously, GoPro and Jabil have collaborated in making GoPro Hero4 and will continue to work together.

In addition to action cameras, Jabil's products also include digital imaging and other consumer devices. However, none of Jabil's production cameras compete with GoPro products.

"Imagine, a world where video conferencing, robotics, and autonomous vehicles use lens and image sensors from GoPro.Together, GoPro and Jabil will make this a reality," said GoPro Chief Technology Officer Sandor Barna.

Jabil estimates, applications on smart home , military or police, firefighters, to the security will use the technology and digital imaging camera  from the results of this cooperation.

GoPro had previously decided to close its drone line of business  because the aircraft market was considered too competitive.

Indosat Ooredoo Expands Networks in Remote Areas of Indonesia

Indosat Ooredoo is expanding its network in lagging, remote and outermost areas (3T) in seven provinces of Indonesia, which is part of the Universal Service Obligation (USO) program.

This network expansion coincides with the construction of 119 USO Base Transceiver Station (BTS) with the Provision and Financing Center for Telecommunications and Informatics (BP3TI), to support the government to accelerate the development of the national economy in the 3T region.

The expansion of Indosat Ooredo network aims to provide telecommunication access, open opportunities and economic potential, as well as realize the government's vision in building the digital economy for the community.

"We deeply appreciate the government that has given trust to Indosat Ooredoo to be part of the USO program implementers," said President Director & CEO of Indosat Ooredoo , Joy Wahyudi, in his official statement on Thursday (29/3/2018).


According to Joy, this is in line with the mission and commitment of the company to continue to build telecommunication infrastructure, including in remote areas to provide equal rights for communities in the region.

"They can enjoy telecommunication services, build a social and economic life, as well as catch up from other regions," he continued.

In addition, Joy said, the development of telecommunication infrastructure also aims to maintain the sovereignty and unity of Indonesia, especially in the foremost and outer regions, which borders neighboring countries.


One of them is in Wayagung Village, Krayan Sub-district, North Kalimantan, which borders with Malaysia, because the BTS device must be taken by plane, followed by off-road car , then transported by buffalo for one day to reach the site.

Meanwhile, Indosat Ooredoo contributed US $ 1.8 trillion in the last six years. The contribution represents 1.25 percent of the company's gross revenues.

"Indosat Ooredoo has always strived to play an active role in the implementation of the USO program with BP3TI," explained Joy.

Facebook Lite Expansion into UK and US

50 Million Facebook User Data On Sale To Worldwide?
